birds nest question

I had a green birds nest coral that fell from its spot and mostly died and bleached out. I eventually was able to recover it, and there is one tip of a branch that is still alive, maybe a half inch long. Is there any chance that a tiny piece of coral like that could survive and grow, eventually into a full colony?

yes, I have seen several colonies grown from a small frag or even a piece of tissue. HTH

yes I've had a small nub of a piece break off the colony and fell into the back of the tank with barely any light and flow. found it when I was cleaning my tank and it was completely bleached all white no color on it whatsoever and now it's a decent sized frag

Yes. IME birdsnest is a pretty tough coral. I had a purple calliendrum that RTNed and abruptly exploded with life back over its skeleton. Wait it out and you might be surprised.

Well... Half of the tiny section of live polyps just bleached randomly. All my other SPS, LPS and softies are fine. Birds nest just always crashes in my tank. I've had a colony of red birds nest die off and now this one is crashing, so maybe I should lay off the birds nest.

The little piece bleached, and now the color is back. I think the frags may be growing a little bit as well.
