hey guys, i bought a birds nest frag yesterday before work yesterday, and over night it fell off the rock it was on and into the sand. i secured it today but it looks like half if not more of the little polyps that were there are gone now, i havent noticed any flesh peeeling or fallling off but there definalty are alot less litle polyps comming out. my calcium is 410-440 and i haent tested foranything else, but will if anyone has any more questions. i've got a acro frag and a montipora that have been doing well for a few months and another sps that i bought at the same time that seem to be doing fine. anyone know what the problem is our anytihng i can do to help it? thanks in advance

Give it a few days, you should start seeing the polyps come back. As long as your tank is healthy, it should recover on its own, you don't need to do anything to it.

I think we all are in the beginnings :) ... I have had quite a bit of experience with birdsnest, montiporas and other similar things. They are pretty much indestructable. I have had them fall in sand and go unnoticed for a while, broken them while cleaning etc etc... they always recover .... made lots of money on frags from accidentally breaking them!

adamn how do you fix the broken pieces on rocks do you just use glue directly on the lower part of the coral and rock?

yup, I just got some krazyglue gel and took the peices out, dabbed the base on a towel to dry it, and did the same with the peice of rock, and just glued it on with a very small blob of glue. I have done this with both birdsnest and montipora.
