I did not want to hijack the earlier thread about the bobbing clownfish but I am afraid mine might be ill. I got the babies (onyx about 3/4" - 1") one week ago. During the day they seem to be trying to host around my powerhead. But after the lights go out they hang out at the surface. I assumed this was because they could see their reflection in the surface and felt safer up under the lip of the canopy. Sometimes they will swim on their sides right at the surface. Now this morning one of them was swimming along upside down right up by the surface. When I put the turkey baster in the water to feed they both immediately swam over to start chowing down.
I have lots of surface agitation. I tested my water immediately to see if some dire problem had occurred overnight. But 0 ammonia and nitrites and 5ppm of nitrates. My salinity is the same .0026 that it has been with a pH of 8.2.
So far they have totally ignored anything in the bottom 2/3 of my tank.
