nothing will eat that stiff you just need to keep it stired up with water movement (powerhead) and no food for it meening no over feeding how often do you feed your fish and corals with that food you made?? also are there any dead fish or anyhting?

feed only what they can eat in 3- to 5 minutes and if theres food still floating around longer then that it means you feed them too much. should feed 3 to 4 times a day but samller amounts.

I think there are a lot of factors that go into this. Moderation is definatley the key. It is often fish specific as well. For example, many tangs will graze on the various algeas in your tank and could probably go several days if not longer without an external food source, where as other more delicate fish require food sources that may not be found naturally in your tank. In a well established tank with common fish, I think it's safer to err on the side of caution and under feed, because a larger (say 55 gal +) tank that is well established will have a significant amount of naturally occuring foods for many types of fish. Oh, I generally feed a small pinch of flake and cyclopeze daily or every other day if I forget. (yellow tang, violet psuedochromis, domino damsel, false perc., lawnmower blenny in a 75gal).

i found out my i have black algea in my tank. i dont have any thing to shift the sand around. i talked to dr.foster and smith and i need to get snails or a starfish or a sand shifting goby into my tank that will move around the sand in my tank.
