Black algae?

Manual removal using a suction tube into a bucket. It will come right off in sheets.

It is indicative of other issues. Excess nutrients and insufficient flow are the two most likely culprits. Lighting that is past it's prime is also a contributor, especially if you are using T5 bulbs. As they age their color spectrum shifts, much to the benefit of the various types of nuisance algae.

It likely just looks black because of all the blue light you have..
ID pictures are best taken by turning the blue channel off or way down as proper color rendition can be important..

Its cyano though as stated...Siphon it out with your next water change and you can turn lights off for 3 days to help weaken it...

yeah that cyano ive had it black, green, and purple. i used cemiclean to get rid of mine had no problems after
