black and blue

Which color is best for the back of the tank, black or blue? I've got a new All-Glass aquarium I want to paint before I fill it. Thanks.

It's personal taste really. I prefer black on my tanks. creates a bit more depth IMO.

I vote for black too, I find the blue doesn't contrast as well. Just painted my 90 AGA using latex paint and a roller, very happy with the result.

blue makes the tank look deeper...were black makes things pop

Just do what I did, spray the bottom black and fade it into blue for the upper half, third, or quarter(whatever suits you). Gives you the best of both worlds, depth and pop.

For the best color contrast, black will make you colors stand out better. If you dose calcium and Carbonate properly the back will be purplish pink any way in a short time.

I like black, I agree with pillpusher on the contrast. I don't think the blue is quite as dramatic.

Thanks for all the replies. I think black has it. I'll buy the latex paint tomorrow (and try to keep it off of the living room carpet).

or just use krylon fusion. Thats what I did and came out great.

I tinted with 5% limo tint. Love it!

Buy 2 cans of krylon ( I say 2 because everyone at my walmart HAS to test it even if they don't buy it )

Paint it on your grass, and cover your tank really good.
