I really want a black and white clown and a orange true perc clown. I was wondering could they become a matted pair or can only same kinds of clowns be matted?

WOW.... Im so excited to see that!! I will 4 sure be getting a black and orange pair! Thank u for that great info.

i have a mix pair and they look great im glad i paid the extra money for the black one. once you have it show some pic's

All this confussion about perc false perc it drives me nuts....

agreed! I'm of the thought that it should be called a "true ocellaris" and "true perc". You would never call a german shepherd a false lab, so why call one species a false of another?? garbage!

yep... there are mixed pairs out there =)

love the question! yes! they definitely can and do pair up --- we have two actually pairs in different tanks. the pair in our large tank are currently laying eggs and we are going to try and hatch a batch... we'll see how we do and keep our fingers crossed.

there are some pics/links from people that have been successful and posted what the babies would look like.

The pic to the left shows only Occ.

I have had a pair with one orange and one black ocellaris for a couple of years now. They get a long great and share the same hosts (anemones, frogspawn, whatever's around...)

Since I have been in this hobby, I have wondered the same thing...seems the ocellaris has some sort of bad rap due to the designation of false... I can't agree more with your comment.:)

+1

yes!
oc fish addict we have same taste.
my black one was tank bread and was told prolly not host. so i got rbta and a perc that hosted, here it is after 2 months. also i got the black one 2 weeks earlier, which was smaller. the black one tried to host on the long nosed hawk wish i would have made a vid but when the lights went out it always swam around the hawk fish's top fins.

the OP wanted different species, not different colorations of A. ocellaris

I feel sorry that no one is listening to you lol.

Ill add that i have a black/white occy and a true perc in my tank. Thought them being a mated pair hasn't happened yet. They share my elegance and the perc which is the male im guessing is doing its little twitch dance thing.
