black and white clownfish

Hi there,
can someone advise me on the black and white clownfish. I've had one for the past two years. I am thinking of adding another one, which would be a very small one, hoping that they will eventually breed. But what do I get? I would like to get another clownfish but the typical one, organge and white? Does anyone know whether this is possible, whethter they pair up. And if so, do I get a percula clown or an oscellaris. What is the Black and white clownfish, a true one or a false one? Any advise anyone?

Either of those options will work, provided you find a small juvenile. Clowns are not picky about small details like "species" and "color." ;)

I suggest looking for a local that breeds clowns that can provide you with a proven juvenile, and it wil lbe healthier for not undergoing the stress of shipping or being in a fish store.

thanks NicoleC. so just as a matter of interests, do the percula clowns then breed with the osellaris ones as well?

to answer your other question the black and white you have is a variant of ocellaris, aka the false percula... but also like nicole said it doesnt matter if you get a true or false perc to pair, all that is important is that it is small enough to be assured that it will become submissive to reduce stress to both fish...

But Beware... A. Polymnus and even A. Clarkii are sometimes sold as Black&White Percula. Not to mention the two & three stripe Damsels.

tru... but im assuming he knows its a clownfish... even at that though oama is right in that they often sell A. Polymnus (saddleback) as black and white percula...if u can post a pic, we can identify it easily...
