I know that these fish are not sps reef safe, but would they be o.k. in a tank with zoos, hammers, frog spawn, etc.? I am currently running a fowlr and would like to add a pair but I would also like to keep my options open.

I've read that even diphreutes (the reef safe-er one) will/can eat zoas. Mine doesn't touch mushrooms or euphyllia or BTA's. They grow FAST, from what I've seen so far, and I fear he will outgrow my 110g quickly. How large is your tank?

I've had two different individuals the first for over 2 years and the one I have now for about 1 1/2 years. It's in my avatar. The first was perfect lived in harmony with LSP. zoas, SPS clams everything. Lost it in a bout with ick.

The latest one was fine until a rabbit fish I introduced showed every one in the tank just how yumy zoas were, now the heniocus and even my fox face devour all zoas they see ... instantly.

Still, it is safe with my SPS and calm and even some LPS such as trumpets, froggy, hammer, and even a few favia. Both mine remianed faily smal through the first year and a half but really begin growing after that. They do get quite large!

I guess I'm gonna pass on these. Not only does it limit what I can do in the future, but I also didn't realize they got big fast. My tank is a 120, 4x2x2. Thanx for the tip. Thats what I love about this site.

I have a acuminatus which is NOT reef safe. He rarely picks at zoas but does not touch frogspawn, hammers, xenia, candycane, yumas or other mushrooms I have.
