Black clown pair and orange ocellaris?

Three years ago, I bought a black and orange ocellaris clownfish for my 55 gallon reef. After about a year together, the black clownfish began to beat up the orange ocellaris clownfish, so I ended up moving the black clown to a different (30 gallon) tank. I bought the orange clown a mate, and then I bought the black clownfish a mate. Unfortunately, there was a mass die off in my 55 gallon due to a broken heater, and only my original orange clown survived (its mate and all of my other fish died). It was removed to a temporary home

Now, I've set up (Well, I'm still working on setting up) a 125 gallon reef tank. When it's ready for fish, I was wanting to move the black clownfish pair in there, but I was also wanting to put the orange clownfish in there. They're both very special to me because I've had them for a good while and the orange clown was the only survivor from my first ever saltwater fish tank.

Do you think having an orange clownfish and a black clownfish pair in my 125 gallon tank will work out?

Thanks for any help you can give. :bounce1:

PS: When I say "black clownfish", I mean Amphiprion Ocellaris var.

Are you asking if you can keep a pair of clowns, one orange and one black (both ocellaris) in the tank? As long as they aren't both females (mature). I have a female cinnamon and a male tomato (they are in the same family) and I think they are becoming a mated pair. They are only a year old but they already live together in a condy.

On the other hand, are you asking if you can keep one orange clown with a mated pair of black clowns? The answer is most likely no. The female of the group will either go after the other female or the lone juvenile and kill or harass it to death. Not always the case, but likely IMHO.

I have a black ocellaris with a orange ocellaris and they are doing fine together. The black one has become the female. But I also bought the orange one smaller then the black.

As long as one is bigger than te other and paired up in even numbers, keeping two pairs in a 125 shouldn't be any problem ime, I have a black pair and an orange pair in a 90 with plenty of places to host but they stick together as a group for the most part at night and aren't hosting in anything at the moment.. Hope that helped
