Black clowns and anemones in 10 gal

I'm setting up a small 10 gal nano I'm useing black sand for a different look. I have a mated pair of tiny black and whites that I'm going to put in there with one of my anemones that just split! Would the lighting on this lil thing keep the anemone alive? The bulbs are 2 24 watts 50/50. Here is where in at so far.

both the clowns and the nem will outgrow the small tank. But if it's all you have for now I guess there is little choice. I would start planning a larger home for those species though. Good luck.

Not saying it can't be done, but more so not recommend.

Up the light output to a Coralife 96w PC fixture, or MH, and stay extremely diligent on your water quality, and your bta will do just fine.

chances are it will become too large for the tank, but if your heart set on keeping the anemone in the 10g, up the light output, and be religious on your water changes

Why even bother with it? If you know he's going to have to upgrade tank size and lighting output why would you give him any encouragement?

To the OP, I honestly wouldn't try it. Can you keep a BTA in a 10 gallon for a short period of time? Sure. Is it recommended? No. If your setup is revolved around your black clowns and a BTA I would strongly consider getting at least a 30 gallon tank.

Don't forget about temperature regulation. With a small tank keeping the temp down will become problematic.

It depends...

I have a pair of true percs + 2 rbta (small to mid) in a 12G CAD for more than 18months
already. They are doing well, and spawned every 2 weeks.
With them is 3 hermit and 2 snail.
LED lightling.

Water change 2-3G every week.
Temp in the tank can get upto 84 in very warm summer days.

Thank you words of incuragment!!!! Was really looking to make this there home cuz they are so tinny and the wife really wants a nano

I know Im breaking the ruls majorly here but I do it anyway!

In a 8 gallon Bio-cube that I have set up just for extras,I have a RBTA and a pair of Ocellaris clownfish(who spawn every 14~ days). The RBTA splits enough and he stays about 4-6 inches in size and is never larger.I then can remove the clone and do whatever with it.Therefor Im keeping my anemones in regulation.

I dont reccomend this to many people, but it can be done.Im going to be honest and say I wouldnt tell a person who has been doing this for 1-2 years they can do it.They might be able to,but it does take a skill and that skill needs to be learned over a period of time.

I have no problem keeping my tank temp at a steady 72-74.My water is also very stable to.I do a weekly water change on this tank of about a 1/2 gallon.I dont does anthing because my salt mix replenishes the water of Ca,Alk,and Mag.

So it can be done. But not recomended!I think its a nice little tank, and I enjoy my little tank, but it does need care and needs to be cattered to.This is a larger system so it needs to be set up better and needs to be cared for better also.

Just thought I would share!

i also have a 10g. i have 2 bw occ. in it and a sebae. the only problem i have is my temp gets a bit high, sometimes going over 80. but besides that its all going good. i have a 36w tf fixture on it. and i also have a 18w pc on it. some say its hard to maintain but id disagree. just my 2 cents.
enjoy!:)

That H. Crispa should outgrow that tank very shortly, they get huge. The last one I had many many years ago took up about 1/3 of my 75.
