Black Ich on Blonde Naso

So since I've been back in the hobby this is my first fish with problems. I currently have about 20 fish in two different tanks. All fish are very healthy and doing great except for the one and only fish that I got from Divers Den, go figure.

My blonde naso has what I believe to be black ich, I did purchase the fish from DD about two weeks ago and she looked great until today, little black spots everywhere. I know the only way to treat is to get the fish and all fish now out of the tank and QT in a different tank. My question is are there any proven methods of treating for this in my DT? Full mixed reef, clams, lsp, sps, softies and a bunch of fish and other assorted inverts.

Thanks for any and all help!

I think you may have lucked out. Black Ich is caused by an infestation of turbellarian flatworms. PraziPro will knock it out and is generally considered reef safe, except for tube worms/feather dusters.

Not trying to give you a lecture, but if you have 20 fish then it sounds like you have a nice collection. If you aren't QT'ing before adding any new additions to your DT, I highly recommend you start doing so. Most parasites/diseases require medication that is NOT reef safe.

Prazipro reef safe? I was unaware of that. I do have a 4oz bottle on hand, but can't read the small writing on it. lol!, but really don't think I'll be using it in my reef. Would perfer take it down and trap the fish for treatment.

I do QT all fish for at least 1 month and some longer depending on where they come from and how they respond. I use a 55g rubbermaid ag tub with live rock for holding and if real QT is needed I use a glass tank with PVC so that I can medicate.

I just added 2 proaquatix tangerines after being in holding for two months and I am most concerned about them. This Naso was to be the last fish in this particular tank and I did get it from DD so I thought that it'd be ok. My fault for being a dumb a$$ and not QT'ing my last fish to go in.
