Black Ick

i recently lost my tank due to buyin a fish that had ick appeared to be gone and within a week was covered in it. end result crashing my tank. but my question is i had a lieutant tang and he had black ick anybody know how why what would have caused this so i can prevent future events like this happening.

Black ich is a worm. You can prevent, or cure,all the problems you've had by using a QT procedure with all new fish. Is your DT fishless now? If so, it needs to remain that way for at least 8 weeks to wipe out remaining ich. If you have any fish left, they should be treated for ich in a QT while the DT is fishless.
