So you are gonna light the other end of the tank with LEDs?

Won't your mangrove shade out your tank eventually as it grows?
Or do you constantly prune it back for the whole bonsai effect?

I prune back any growth that is in the direction of the coral, or use zip ties to train the branch in another direction

I've had a tank like this in my head for years! Biggest hurdle for me was finding a mangrove with enough character to justify building a tank around it, so it never materialized.

Really impressed, I think the tank has a TON of potential!

Not sure how reef safe they'd be, but the best (and most authentic) addition would be fiddler crabs. As long as you feed them enough on land I bet they'd leave your corals alone. And of course once your mangrove grows out and you need to upgrade to a bigger system...mudskippers

Awesome tank, I'm subscribing If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your mangrove, and do you have any tips for getting such great growth out of it?

I tried fiddlers and every time the last like a week then they just die no matter what I do.

I got the black mangroves as seeds from reefcleaners and I had them planted in a deep separate container for a long time in very rich soil.I might grow some more in a 5 gallon bucket and just let them grow crazy

Thanks, took a long time to move things around,epoxy rocks together, try different layouts to get what I saw in my head to reality.I think it came out ok

Yeah, I've never like normal dimension tanks so it's why I built everything from the ground up. This is a pic when I was building the tank a little bit ago. It has a floating plan inside much like the Elos tanks, just doesn't carry their outrageous price tag:crazy1: It use to have an overflow as well but I have since remove that.
