Black ocellaris and RBTA pics-Lots of pics

Here are my ORA black percs that I have owned as juvies and are now about 2.5y rs old. They learned to host in the RBTA all by themselves. As of yet there have not spawned but maybe one day soon


I originaly bought one RBTA from a local reefer and when I introduced it into the tank 1yr ago it split into three. I feed them silver slides weekly.

They are in a 30g cube with a 250wt 14k hamilton MH on a Ice cap ballast(im due for a new bulb). I also run a remora skimmer but dont get much skimmate it from it. I was thinking about trying one of the corallife skimmers.

how long did it take them to host since the intro of the RBTA?
What size were they when they hosted?

i have a 1" black clown and normal false perc, with some frogspawn, and soon a BTA..

They were small when they hosted. I couldnt tell you what size but they were about 1yr to 1.5yr when I introduced the RBTA. Once I introduced the RBTA it was around 4 months when I saw the female host first. It took the male about 1 month after that when he started to host.

Normaly the female will host in the larget RBTA at night in the front of the tank and the males host in the smallest RBTA in the back of the tank. Sounds like your typical relationship..lol

The female gets real agressive when I get near any of the RBTA and will nip me or what ever is in the water.

bamack2-Are you asking how much I paid for the clowns? I think back then they were 25.00 each. Not sure how much they run now.
