Black Ocellaris Clownfish

I was wondering how you could tell if a pair of black clowns are tank bred or wild caught. Is there a way. I bought them off a guy locally that is moving and he didn't know where they were from. I have a pair with orange spots on their mouths and the female has a misbarred 3rd bar. Is this definative to tell that they are tank bred? Thanks for all the help.

But it does happen. My guess goes to captive bred, as it's just more common to see CB black ocellaris, ime.

Unless your friend had some serious world wide clownfish connections, you can be pretty much 100% sure that they are CB. You can probably count the number of WC black ocellaris pairs in the U.S. on one hand.

Recent rumors of WC fish have turned out to be fish that were CB in Australia and shipped here.

Thanks for the help. It was my thinking also that they are captive bred. Hopefully I can get some pics up here sometime. Thanks again.
