Black Onyx still swimming at the top

BlackOnyx

In Memoriam
He's been in the same spot for 3 days. I got a pair an the female died Tuesday, some people say Brook others say bacteria or fungus.

Here one good pic of the female maybe it spread to the male? Yet I don't see anything on him. Maybe something is in him?

Hi,
It looks like he has clown fish slime disease.
Formalin, and Malachite green in equal drops per gal. Not in the reef tank, if you can catch him you can place him in a bucket with tank water an air stone for an hour at a time.
Hope this helps, beautiful looking fish.
Frank

to bad she didnt make it.. Isnt formalin and malachite green bad?

The male doesn't appear to have any lesion or anything, he's just swimming funny

Ok so the male tonight has developed the same white spot on his chin as did the female??? *** is going on here?

I'm using melafix pimafix and junglelabs anti-parasite food??? That should cover/kill every f'ing pest in the tank?

Please help I really like this little guy he's so cute! =/

Melafix and pimafix will not kill and cover everything by far! He is a beautifull fish. I can't tell much from your pics. What were the females symptoms before death? If it is brook you will have to do formalin dips asap and if its bacterial I wouldn't trust melafix. Heavy breathing at the top could also be velvet which it kills fast and may be too late already. Does the spots look powdery? Can you post tank params?

All my parameters are messed up cuz the melafix and pimafix killed off some benefitical bacteria so the nitrates are at 20+ppm. Ammonia seems fine, salinity is 1.025 and temp is like 75 too.

Try a big water change right off would be the first thing. Is he breathing hard? Eating? What are you feeding him? I wouldn't think the mela, perma fixes are the cause of the high nitrates.

they're antibotics and wack the nitificating bacteria. He's eating jungle labs anti parasite food and his poo is changing to brown.
