black or clear silicone

I am at a loss for deciding what color silicone to use. I have all the glass to make a 12x12x12 starfire cube, and I can't decide what color silicone to use for the joints. I can see the benefits of clear, but the clean black lines could make the glass' clarity stand out. Can anyone offer suggestions.

Black is one of the reasons I prefer perfecto tanks over all-glass...

but.. wow.. you know its an addiction when you cant decide on something as simple as silicone color ;)

LOL :D

Black hey I want to build a 12x12x12 cube Where did you get the glass? How much do you think it will cost you to build this tank?

I got the glass from a guy in PA before I moved, he requested a sample from the makers of starfire. They sent him 4 pieces of 12x12 glass. I just bought the bottom piece. I have no idea how much this would cost if I had to purchase the glass.

I like black if you can do it well. Clear if you can't...

Even though the seems actually become slightly more visible with black, I think the black hides the actual seam in the glass a little better. So, the overall look is a cleaner line in the corners.

That is kind of what I was thinking as well. I did my sump with clear and it stands out quite a bit.

CK I have a piece of starfire I would be willing to sell if you want to make a tank you would have to cut it but I have extra for any opps :)
