black or clear vinyl tubing

what's the difference between black and clear vinyl tubing? Can't figure out what to use for the return.

use black, less gunk buld up as light can not pass through.....

If you go black you wont be able to see if you ever get crap stuck in there fish/snails etc....

As for clear vynol tubing u play it safe but Ill be replacing mine every 6 months for the reasons posted above.

I just clean mine every 6 months or so. Disconnect the hose, run a piece of 50 pound mono fishing line down it. Tie the line to a piece of cloth and pull it through, just like cleaning a rifle.

i think i will go with black... i don't think anything will be able to get through the tubes since i'm only going to use it for a return. The way I will have it setup, i don't htink any snails or fish will be able to get in there. Thanks for the input everyone!
