I'm an Addict.
Theres about 6 in total black dots on my clown, whats going on? Also not to mention every fish I have added since the clown has died, the clown has lived for about 1 month now, but if I add another fish it dies within a week,,, my params are fine, even my LFS say so,

current live stock is

-clown
-peppermint
-35lbs live rock
-25lbs live sand
-10 turbos
-2 blue legs
-2 larger hermits (reef safe)
-green star polyps
-condy anemone
-zoanthids

whats going on?!?!? anyone please?

Is your clown trying to host your zoos? If so, she is being stung by them but it won't hurt anything. The spots will eventually disappear.
Are you saying every other fish you add dies? None of your tank inhabitants wouldn't kill a fish I wouldn't think. Do you have your own test kits? You shouldn't really on the LFS to test your water for you.
You waited 3 minutes for an answer before you bumped your thread. Now it looks like you have 2 people answer your question. Others may not look so quick to help thinking you already have an answer :(

i have my own kits, yes, however they say its fine too, so. =/ im not sure all i know is everything in the tank is FINE except when I add a new fish, within 4 days boom dead.

Are you getting all your new fish from the same source? Maybe try a different LFS? You could list your water params. Maybe somebody on here would see something that needs to be changed. Are you watching your tank after lights out to see if there is an unknown predator?

its probably coral stings. is the clown trying to host in any corals? this is fairly common for clowns to get small black spots on their body.

well ive tried about 4 different lfs, and all the fish i add die within 4 days, side effects once in the tank are hiding, sitting still, wont eat, heavy breathing, been explaining this to a LFS and they are helping me along the way, so far I am going to setup a barebottom QT tank, (10 gallon) just HOB filter, heater, water from existing tank, and the clown, and I will be adding SeaCure Copper Treatment, in regular doses, and then I am going to take that water back to the LFS after the dosing is done for the 12 hours and have them test the water, with the clown being out of my display, and having only zoanthids, anemone, and shrimp, and snails craps, green star polyps left in the display, the ich should rid in a couple of weeks, so I will be treating the clown in the 10g until the display is ready again. this is what my LFS clerk has been helping me understand for the past few days, I will be starting this tomorrow, I hope all is understandable that I posted.

The black spots on the clown fish are more than likely from coral stings as others have previously stated. This is common with clownfish since they just love to try and host anything and everything.

What other fish have you tried to add that have died in your tank? Clownfish are relatively hardy fish that can take quite the beating when it comes to water quality (as you will find with most damsels).

i had a foxface rabbit, lived for about 3 - 5 days in a corner as well, didnt eat,,,, then bought a lawnmower blenny ate at first really well , then just sat there until one day dead, had him for about 4 days, then i just had a regal tang, that was about 1 -2 inches long, that lived for 2 days,,,, i was gonna bump him up to a 90 when he got a little bigger but guess not,,,

Do you do a drip system or just throw them in the water??? Have you done a water change? Breathing hard sounds like the water is off....
