Black spots on rocks

I have some black spots on the rocks I have and knowing this is some sort of dye off is it something I should be concerned about ,,?I have taken one of the rocks and tried to clean it ..with a toothbrush it doesn t seem to come off that way..It has some green stuff on there that I believe was moss like stuffwha when I first got it...now it s slim ...please let me know if I should do about this or just let it continue...watching it..I got it partially cured from wholesale pllace in california ..they told me it was fiji preminum now I think it is what..thanks

Does the black stuff smell bad? Are you still curing the rock?

yea, the smell test usually works. If it smells of sulfur it's death. If you just got it it's likely just curing.

Hey guys I ve had it for about 3 weeks to a month ,, must still need some curing...I took it to ac and ken said it looked like sponges..and the rock was ok...Now my sand think I need to clean it ..I was thinking how would I do that?? take water and rock out I was wondering if I could y in some tubin to the ehiem and drain the water into a garbage bag..is it possible?? but next how to get sand out amd clean it?? that way it would be no chance of bloom later...I ddid a 50 percent water change before I thought about the sand being dirty...this hobby would be great if I knew what I was doing lol....

If so, I can't tell where the black spots are. The rock looks okay to me.
