I would cut the Kenya tree off, then reattach it elsewhere. You could also cleave the blasto or cut it with a dremel. It is actually better to kill off some of its flesh with a rubberband before cutting it.
I'll try cutting the Kenya tree out first, but I want to make sure I get it all and that it doesn't pop back out in the new tank. If I can't, get all I can see, I'll have to resort to fragging the blasto.
