Blastomussa merletti question

I was given a small frag of Blastomussa merletti(5 heads)a couple of days ago. I placed it about 8" away from my lights in a moderate turbulent current area. The aquarium is a 24g Aquapod with stock PC lighting (daylight and actinic). All other corals are softies(Zoas, GSP, Xenia, Shrooms, Ricordea Yuma). The Blastomussa is opening up fine so far. Does this sound like enough light? Anything special I need to know?

Thanks in advance.

Before mine died(Due to lack of water changes) I had mine in my nano cube at the very bottom. They really enjoyed it. Mine started melting away when i had them mid way up the tank so i put them in the shade, and slowly brought them out. it started growing new heads within 2 months when i did that.

Octopus8, Sounds good where it is at. I have mine in much more light and in Med flow. The larger B. Welsi's are just the oppisite for lighting and will melt in full light.

I have mine in a shady part of the tank with low flow. Seems to like it and it is growing quite well.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll keep a close eye on it and move it away from the lights if it starts to look stressed. For clarification, the flow isn't very strong but it swirls around gently from several different directions.

flow sounds good, watch it with the lighting. You will be able to tell, It will close up if too much light...

I fully agree here...I usually keep my B. merletti's pretty low in the tank too though, but they can take a bit higher light.

Thanks folks!

They look pretty good after five days, so I'll leave them alone until they say otherwise. Here's a picture taken a few minutes ago.

Looks happy to me! Have any full tank shots?

Not yet. I'm swamped at work so I probably won't be posting any pictures until this weekend.

Glad to hear you guys think they look healthy.
