Seems that not that long ago Blastomussa were all the rage. Now, I rarely see any mentioned here. Whats the deal? I really like them, although I dont have any or ever have. I thought about adding a bunch of them to the new tank I am about to start. So...where are all the Blasto's? Is there a problem keeping them? Blasto keepers, current or past...sound off.

Hi

I have several Blastomussa colonies in my tank...it seems they were popular until the Aussie Acans and Micros came along and now there the ''corals to have''

Blasto's are fairly easy to keep...they like to be put in fairly dim light so place them under overhangs or on a shaded part of the sandbed...people were having trouble keeping them under bright lighting and they just died off head by head...

Feed them too..they happly take mysis or brineshrimp and it seems to make them reproduce quicker and keep the heads nice and large and puffed up

Good luck

Elliott

I am currently setting up a tank and hope to have several different Blastos. Where is the best place online to buy them?

most importers are out of cities on these beautiful corals so until its time for them to renew it you wont find as much out there... unless there smuggled

There still not cheap I paid $120 for this one because I rarely see these guys around here, this one was taken form the stores desk top nano, nobody bothers to ask if the stuff in their display tank is for sale :D .
