Blasto's shriveling??

Ok so I have a big nice colony of welso's, which have been opening VERY large and growing nicely for the past year or so. But now over the past week they are have not opened and seem to be receading. as well as a new polyp of welso I got just before hand.

the only things I can think are that I stopped use of my carbon reactor(1/2 carbon 1/2 phosgard), or that right about the same time my big ritteri, just started to touch them(I moved the anenome's rock further away that day so they no longer touch at all)

im very confused, because I have many other LPS that are doing very well still, even two colonies of blasto merleti(sp?) that seem uneffected. Its just those two welso's.

should i put the carbon reactor back on or could it be something else?

thats what i thought but he only got one polyp once and the whole colony is receeding back, and now the mouths are open.

i have moved him to the bottom and will try feeding him, this is really confusing since its been way up top under the halide loving the light for a year now.

Just low light while it is healing. Bastos IMO can send signals colony- wide of dammage. Sometimes you have to go as far as fragging off the dammaged head to prevent the symptom from spreading.

Low flow, lowest light you can (even shade it if you have to) and feed either mysis or cyclopzeez.

I've had great luck bringing them back from near death.

Hope yours turns out o.k.
