Bleached anemone normal?

I've had this BTA for almost a year now. When I had it from the LFS, its tentacles was colored, I forgot what color it was. After maybe a month, its tentacles became white in color. I would feed him some shrimp heads, mussels and occasionally dead guppies.

Was the food insufficient? Its side is expanding and rarely moves away from his current spot. It is hosting a Clarkii who would occasionally also bring food to him.

Accidentally, he got fed by the Clarkii a huge 6 inch shrimp and it quickly enveloped its catch for several hours leaving the Clarkii anemone out in the cold. The next day noticed some light green fluorescent color of the tentacles. So does it mean tht I was underfeeding the anemone? Aside from the color, the anemone seems to be growing. Any comments/ suggestions/?

Lots of variables: Lighting, pH shifts, temps, diet, etc.

Not enough data to provide guidance.

Post a picture :)

Oh, okay, I will post a picture at photobuckets in a day or two.
Meanwhile, its a 600 liter aquarium, mainly fish with heavy rock work. Temperature 26 C, ph 8--8.2, using ordinary fluorescent lights, but it usually attaches it self to the rock facing the aquarium ,so it looks like a wall blocking a cave.

IN the past would give it a mussel or shrimp head every few days. Many times the Clarkii it is hosting will also bring food like
silversides, loaches. It was only recently that a whole 6 inch shrimp was carried by the clarkii to the anemone. The next
day, its tips had some green flurescent appearance which seemed to glow at night.

What should the normal diet be? It expands about 8 to 9 inches wide and about 4 to 5 inches high normally. It stays at the same position for several months already.

probably low lighting. What wattage are you running? Most anenomes require alot of light and the less light you have you will need to feed more to make up for it. How high in the tank is the anenome? Check out carlosreef.com for some great info on anenomes
