Bleaching/Cleaning Live Rock Help Needed

I had some live rock sitting outside at it had dried up dead algae and softies and boring clams in in. I'd like to re-use it in some new aquascaping.

I put one piece in a 5 gallon bucket with about two cups of bleach and 3 gallons of R/O - hope this was an acceptable idea. I let it sit overnight and now drained in and filled it with fresh water and dechlorinator.

What is the proper process for prepping old live rock with dead life on it and what is the proper bleaching process for live rock?

hey builderguy look in the chemistry forum...under "bleach/acid".there is everything you need to know.i just did 200lbs of LR.good luck, hope this help's

Thats all I did, but I let it sit just for a few hours, once that bleach hits the rock pretty much everything is dead, again there is a good wright up on bleach and acid washing your rock in the chemistry forum.
