Bleaching please help

I have been away for 2 weeks returned to my 37 oceanic which is lit by only 2 24 inch t5's. to find 1/2 my frogspawn (bottom of the tank), 2 of my 3 montipora's (mid level), and my blue tort (high level in thre tank) yet my shrooms and softies are thriving.
I cant imagine this is a lighting issue...what may be the cause ????

Odds are your Alk has dropped to dangerously low levels while you were gone. Check that first!

thanks, i dont have a test kit, my lfs usually checks it for me (im friends w/the guy) but i just stopped by hes on vacation till 8/14. i will do a 5 gal change and add bionic

2 24 inch T5's is not very much light, not enough light IMHO and that could have allot to do with it.

This may very well be true but wouldn't cause bleaching or lightening of the corals... they'd darken up or brown out.

Stick with raising the Alk slowly using the Alk half of the bionic or disolved baking soda or buffer. Get your water checked asap

thanks...and just to commment on t5's these corals are from a 65 w/only 2 t5's, i kep the blue milli and a green slimer in same (high in tank) for about a year and had good growth, color and polyp extension)...

update: i tested my water alk was a 10, ph 8.3. saliniti 1.023
i checked my temp a few hours after i opened the top on 8/11 and it was at 83.8, have a feeling the tank may have gotten to 85/86 while i was away. tank is now in 81/83 range and the frogspawnt as of last night still seems to be bleaching a little (the non bleached heads are getting lighter)................any thoughts

what are your ALK, CA, MG , PH , NO3, PO4, and salinity paramters???? oh and temperature too!

answer these and it will help to get to the bottom of things

right now run some carbon and do a WC and get to testing those params

ahh, just read your post....

What was the ALK, PH, temp and salinity at before you left??this is imporatant to tell if you had swings in these areas....slowly get your levels back where you want now and run that carbon and WC
