blenny help

My lawnmower blennie keeps slapping the sand w/ his sides, I think he might be scratching, its been doing this for about a week and a half now, but I see no signs of ich or any parasite, he just seems alot whiter than before.

is this behavior normal for a blenny

blennies are all crazy, but if he's losing color it's not a good sign. what are your parameters? Have you tested your water?

I am a super blenny junkie and all of my blennies exhibit this behavior it seems that they do it to flip food off of the substrate to eat it, but sometimes I think it is just there goofy personalities.
About your other comment Blennies do change there pigment quite a bit. But just to be safe keep an eye on your blenny and make sure he is still eating normal and acting in his normal manner. Also is your blenny getting enough greens?

ok I tested it and everything is good but it looks like I got a nitrite bloom it looks like its over 5.0

wth does this mean, tank is 3 and a half weeks old

Your tank probably wasnt finished cycling. You shouldnt have any nitrite. Wait before adding anything else to the tank. Your tank needs to finish cycling.
