I don't think any blennies will clean the sand, most will just pick at the rocks. If your looking for something to stir the sandbed, I'd look at a fighting conch or even a pistol shrimp. Do you currently have any nassarius or cerith snails? They will also stir it a bit too

Had the same problem literally just walked in the door with a conch haha, but another option would be sand sifting gobies. I'll let you know how that conch fairs at cleaning up the algae on the sand bed.

my blenny wont touch the sand. my favorite fish is my yellow diamond goby, he keeps the sand pristine and has a lot of personality. make sure your substrate is fine enough to fit through the gills though,

The best fish to clean your sandbed is probably the sleeper goby, they perfectly eliminate all living microorganisms in the sand and unless they're on prepared, they starve. Stick to nass snails.
Combtooth blennies eat algae of the rocks
fang blennies don't eat algae and are open water swimmers.

I have a diamond goby that eats prepared food well and is also always going through my sand and turning it over. If they are eating well at the store, it's probably a good bet. Gobies that are sand sifters include the yellow headed sleeper goby, the diamond goby, the tiger wardi goby and a few others of course. The one's I named are what I usually see at my LFS.

Conch's are good too, but I would be concerned about running into the same issue that an earlier poster mentioned about the sand sifting gobies. The conch will probably go through the sand bed pretty quickly and then will need to be supplemented with other food. I think gobies are easier to supplement than snails. This is of course unless your tank is huge, in which case they probably wouldn't depelte the sand bed of food. Both animals do the job well, but will likely need to be supplemented with other foods.

If your looking for something to stir the sand bed I'd suggest a tiger tail cucumber, in addition to the snails. If looking for a scavanger on the sand bed I suggest a sea serpent starfish.

I think the conch is a great sand sifter i have kept one in a 55 gal with a dsb for close to 10 years and it's probally 2.5" or so.
