Blennys = cockroaches?

Well today I was inspired to start the revamp of my 90gal tank, which included taking out all pumps and the skimmer to soak them in vinegar. Luckily I noticed a blenny flopping around on top of one of my PH. I feel horrible, I thought all my fish had died off, and nothing has been running for a solid 4-6 months. How has this fish survived with very poor water conditions and no water circulation.
Im going to set up a 10gal tank or have a local reefer watch over it while I get things back up.

That's crazy. Amazing how resilient some fish can be. Hopefully you'll have a better home for it in the near future.

Wow! Poor liitle guy... He'll probably need to go see a therapist, go thru months of rehabilitation, and require loads of prescription antidepresants to get over the trauma he's been thru... JK :D

That's amazing how a fish can survive thru all that. Be sure to find him a good home to make it up to him. And good luck with revamping the tank...

Yeh, some fish can take anything and keep going.

My aunt had a SA cichlid tank that bred often. I guess one of the fry got into the undergravel filter and grew up there, only to be found pretty full grown when she did a tank overhaul. Only difference was it had a funny dorsal fin from being in that small of an environment.

Several years ago I had a Flame Angel in a 29 I used as a Q-tank back then. I had him in there for close to a month and one morning he was nowhere to be seen. I had to catch a plane so I left thinking he had died and was in the rockwork.

I was gone just short of two days and when I returned I removed the rockwork and no dead fish. I looked around the tank and behind it was a small 5 gallon tank with about 2 gallons of water in it. Swimming around in it was the Flame. The main thing was that the 5 gallon had been full of SW but sat there for several weeks and had evaporated down to to its current volume. Over twice the salinity of normal seawater. Not only that but the room temp was only 62° F and there was no heater or circulation in the tiny tank.

Got him out and back in the Q-tank and he didn't appear at all harmed by the ordeal. I have no explanation of how he survived
