Blind clownfish

I just found my clown fish (ocellaris) acting strange and just realized it's blind. It keeps running into the side of the tank and I can put my net right in front of it and it won't move unless I touch it. It's 12:08 at night and I just turned my light on for a sec and that's when I realized this. I was just wondering what could have caused this and if it may only be temporary. I feed it mostly brine shrimp and all my water parameters are good. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

that's weird and i know nothing about this so ill bump this..one thing i can suggest is varying his diet a little bit..brine shrimp is like feeding it popcorn all the time..not very nutritious..i would feed some mysis shrimp and maybe some different flake foods as well..-Drew

Does it behave like that during normal daylight hours?

It could have been that when you suddenly turned the lights on it momentaraly blinded the clown

Oxygen in water

Oxygen in water

Lock for pop eye over the next few days. THey will start to have trouble seeing before you know it it looks like their eyes popping out. Doesnt sound like its this but something to look for. Its caused by to much oxygen in the water.

Feeding only brine shrimp is not good. Needs more nutrition. Those are the potato chips of the ocean. Find some good pellet food and mysis shrimp. Variety is best. That said, i have seen my clowns eyes fog up for a couple of days. I think i realized i didn't rinse out carbon as well as i should have. Water changes fixed quickly. And one other time i did abruptly wake the fish with lights at night and he looked like he was sleep swimming all over the place. Is everything better today?

yea it's acting fine today. Must either blinded him or he was sleep swimming. I also have some bloodworms. Are they any better for it than brine shrimp? What's a good kind of pellet food. The main reason I feed most brine shrimp is cause of my euphylia or torch coral, guess it could use mysis shrimp too.

I use New Life Spectrum pellets and i highly recommend them. I use to feed my betta bloodworms but never used in marine. Even marine flake food should have some nutritional balance. My clownfish eats like a shark when i use pellets tho... their favorite food by far. Mysis shrimp my clowns didn't always go for but now that they are bigger they take them too. My trumpet and button polyps eat mysis shrimp too...
