Bloated Percula

I bought a pair of Perculas about 3 weeks ago. They had been in quarantine all this time. They had been eating ok and looking great; however, I noticed something wrong this morining when the female refused to eat.

She is gasping and breathing rapidly, she also looks bloated and constantly swims like looking up (though not all the time) and not always on the surface of the water. I dont see any apparent spots like ich or whittish mucus like brookynella, she does have a black something attached on one of her eyes, it kind of looks like a tick on a dog. She looks weak and sometimes stumbles from side to side.

I am currently doing a formaline bath since I know this helps with bronquial parasites; nevertheless, I have no idea what she's got.

Any ideas? anyone?

A picture would help out a lot. What are your water parameters and give us more details about the tank she was in. Thanks.

Amonia reads cero
Nitrite Cero
Nitrate Cero
Ph 8.2
SG 1018 ( i lowered the salinity from 1.020 because shes gasping a lot )

the tank is a new tank that have been set up as a quarantine tank 3 months ago, and have been with no fishes at all.

I was doing big waterchanges in the tank, perhaps between a 20% and a 30% percent per week, using RO/DI water and instant ocean salt, and i was using a coralife UV filter in the tank also .

The male is eating and looks healty, the female is starting to lay in the bottom of the thank, she was eating well, as i said bf she have no spots in her skin, but She looks weak, and now sometimes shes laying in the bottom of the tank.

I just started a treatment with metronidazole, and was thinking in lowering the salinity a little more, im having my fingers crossed

hmmm...seems like you just bought a bad fish. Unfortunately fish that you buy at the lfs can be sick but it will not be noticable since the disease is in the early stages. See what I mean?

Update us or I every so often to see how the clown is doing.

the fish was looking really bad, swimming on her side, breathing heavly and close to death so i did an euthanasia on her, i feel bad, but at least now shes in peace.

Thanks for your help.
