Bloated Tailspot Blenny

I have a Tailspot blenny that appears that is extreamly bloated. I have done some google searches and I am guessing that he is constipated. I am still new to the hobby and I think made the mistake of not including enough veggies in his diet. I have been using a variety of frozen and flake, but most of the frozen did not have much vegitable in it. I have tried Nori and other dried stuff and he doesn't go near it. I am now switching to rods food.
I read to feed them peas to clean them out. I have fed him peas the past few days and I have seen it poop, but its stomach is still very bloated. Is there anything else I can do?

He is now picking at the omega seaweed. I put some Kents garlic Extream on it. It seems a bit let blated today. Is there anything I can do or is this is it?

Where did you get him from, and how long have you had him. I think I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Does yours have a black spot on his stomach?

I've had two of them in the past and eventually they were both fat! Both would eat algae off the rocks all day long. I just atributed their robust figure to the eating. Neither had any problems, and I had one for a year and half before I sold off all my livestock.

My tailspot gets most of it's nutrition from grazing on my rocks. I like to supplement it's diet with small pieces of organic, unroasted/toasted nori. Typically the nori found at Asian markets is roasted and it degrades rapidly. I chop the nori into very small pieces (roughly a couple mm wide by .5 cm-1cm) and baste it into the water column. If the pieces are too large my blenny will just 'mouth' the food and reject it. Nori has a high phosphate content, so its important to pull any leftovers before they pollute your water.

My tailspot also enjoys Spurilina Enriched Brine (only as a treat) and small pieces of fish, shrimp, mysis etc. I try to make sure my blenny gets some protein weekly- usually PE mysis or some other fresh or frozen marine fare. (chopping is usually necessary for smaller fishes such as t.spot blennies). I have noticed that my fish likes frozen Cyclopeeze too.

Unless your fish is severely bloated, I wouldn't be overly concerned.
