Blonde Naso Tang lips are peeling help

Hi this is my first time posting
I set up a new 125 that's been running for 2 months.
2 weeks ago I turned my 75 gal into a QT I left my original fish in there a large Redsea Tang, large pacific tang, medium Yellow Tang. 11 days ago I added to the QT a medium Blue Tang and a medium Blonde Naso. Every body got along perfect the Blonde Naso died on day for from not eating he was thin when I got him. I purchased another one 6 days ago he looked really good exempt a dark mark on his side looked like he hit a rock he is a very finicky eater from day one only eating Mysis and the free floating sea weed from other fish and once in a while he'll pick at the seaweed the problem is 4 days ago his lips started to peel from the inside to the edge where the Orange starts he stopped picking at the seaweed he looks at it as if he wants it but it hurts now his mouth looks like his teeth are growing bigger and he can't close his mouth all my water test are perfect except PH is low 7.9 but it has always been low and all the other fish are perfect has any one ever seen some thing like this . Please help me ID what he has I don't want to loose him also.

You have way too many tangs for the environment you are providing. One bristletooth tang would work, but no more. Likely aggressive behavior.

This is coming from a guy who just learned the grim reality of what QT (and lack thereof) can do for you.

If you had your original fish in QT (I agree there are a LOT in there), then they should STAY in QT until the entire process is complete. Generally 8-10 weeks as I have learned from reading here.

By adding a new fish, you have essentially restarted the QT clock.

QT tanks aren't an a,ternate display tank, full of fish. They are a utilitarian setup to allow you to treat disease in a small population of fish, and allow the fish to become adjusted to captive life.

By adding the naso (twice), the clock has restarted. The naso may have had something wrong, and with nowhere to really hide, combined with healthy(?) tank mates, he didn't have much of a chance.

To be honest, a naso is a monster as it grows, and a 125g tank is no place for any large tangs. They are my favorite fish, but I won't be replacing mine due to the size they attain. I'll be getting some tangs that stay smaller, along with a number of small fish.

I'm not a tang police type, but these fish get big, and they can get aggressive.

Remember what the purpose of QT is. Stop adding fish to it, until you have cleared all the QT protocols with the fish that are currently in there. Once the qt tank is empty, disinfect it, and feel free to qt more fish after that.

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES I just want to know if any one has ever dealt with the symptoms my Naso has with the peeling of the lips. All the fish I started with were in the 75 Gal wich was my DT I have a 40 gal sump with a an Iwaki 40RLXT about 1300 GPH and another 40RLXT in A close loop system I know the 75 gal is too small I added 1 blue and 1 naso to quarantine together my original tangs have been in the 75 for almost 4 years with no problems the blue I added is also doing perfect the only problem is the naso the first one I knew was a gamble because he was not eating at the LFS the new one is doing much better except his mouth I have not started he count down on QT time yet I just did the first dose of cupramine this morning I'm not in a rush I just wanted to add all my tangs to the 125 at the same time to the 125 to cut down on any aggression. All my water test are perfect and confirmed by LFS I also have 30 gal QT with my other fish an they are Perfect I need to Know what is causing the mouth to peel like that so can treat it correctly ther is no aggression in the 75gal and the naso is very calm and breathing normaly

My 7" Hippo and 4" yellow tangs are in a 210g tank and I often think it's way to small for the Hippo. Something I've picked up on when buying fish is have the store hold them for a good week to see how he handles the shock from shipping ect. Your regular store should have no problem doing this for you.

Except, the longer a fish is in a store system, the greater the chance for a parasite infection.

5 tangs (2 large and 3 medium) in a 75 gallon?!

Come on!

And the Naso Tang is the least aggressive of all of them.
