Blood shrimp larvae questions

So lights are out on the tank and I'm getting ready to go to bed. I shine my iPhone light into the tank, as I often do at night, and see some sort of larvae. At least 100.

They are pretty fun little things and follow my light around. I notice that they "swim" backwards and fold in half. I have come to the conclusion that they are shrimp larvae.

What's weird is that at this time I have only one blood shrimp. There was a second about 6 months ago and that one mysteriously disappeared.

Question for everyone is.... Is there any decent chance of survival for any of these guys if I leave them in my tank? Or should I set up a little tank and try to grow them there?

My tank now is about 250gallons total with a sump, a fuge, skimmer, etc. I also use filter socks.

Any advice on this?

Survival rate in captivity for shrimp larva are next to impossible from all the info I've read in the past when i first had coral banded shrimp larva.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that they are mysis shrimp and not blood shrimp.

If your feeding Frozen mysis, then the viable eggs that get frozen in the cubes actually thaw out and hatch.

Seriously? This is news to me. Humans havent figured out cryogenic sleeping yet but shrimp have. Go figure

Well, isn't that just crazy. I don't feed mysis regularly but every now and then the coral get to snack on a mix of mysis and brine, with a hint of reef chili.

I guess if that can happen with mysis then maybe with the brine as well?

I was too tired to do anything about them last night so we'll see if anything comes out of them. It was definitely a cool thing to see though!
