Getting him caught is the deal! It's at least a 10 hour ordeal.

When you mentioned he was hanging out at the surface, I assumed it meant he might be easier to catch.

Trap him in the rocks with sheets of acrylic. That's the "Easiest" way I've found but it will still take a few hours.

Just got in and was him gasping. I dont think he will make it through the night.

Update.... He died over night.

Thanks everyone for your help. I guess I just did too little too late and the stress of what I did late in the game didnt help him in his situation... Live and learn....sorry it came at the cost of this loss... he was a really nice fish.

I'm sorry to hear that Matt. It's hard when fish die. It looks like it progressed pretty quickly so don't feel bad about too little too late, sometimes once you figure it out, it's gotten worse and that's not your fault.....
