I just got a maroon clown and let it acclimate for around an hour . After i let him go in the tank he was looking really good swimming around . This morning when i woke up i was checking him out and now he looks like he has small white blotches over his body and it is really easy to see cause he is almost black in color ? is this ich ??? I moved him from the tank he is in 46 reef tank and put him in a 55 fowlr tank with 3 other clowns . Should i take the other clowns out and put them in my reef tank ???

Should i let the fish be for a day and see if something else happens ??

thanks

i didnt want to risk it so i put him in a 55 gallon by himself with some liverock . The blotches look like they went away . I think ill leave him in there for a lil .

keep an eye on that maroon, as it could have a common clownfish desease known as brook, it is very common in new imported clowns such as maroons, they will get patchy whitish covering all over thier bodies, clamp thier fins, and gasp heavily, as this desease attacks thier gill membranes, and it will kill them in a few days if not treated, look in the desease thred for Brook, there are several ways you can treat, formalin baths have worked great for me, i have saved many clowns using formalin, although certain people mention that it could somehow cause fertility problems, which i have never seen myself, since alot of the clowns i have treated have produced fertile spawns.

thanks total . Its been 2 days and he has gone back to looking like he did the first day . hopefully he will be fine . Ill check up on that disease you mentioned .
