Hi all,
I have a little 20g nano tank with a 20g sump that has been keeping LEDs with my SPS for a while now. I have a pair of ORA Mandarins in here (before anyone asks, they get fed 3 times per day...I have very heavy filtration and empty my skimmer cup every day, sometimes even twice) but the odd thing is that the female is aggressive to the male. The extra strange thing is that if I have my blue channel on but my whites off, the female will leave the male alone. She'll also leave him alone if the tank lights are off in general - she only goes after him when both whites and blues are on. I know I have a boy and a girl: the female is even gravid. I have tried to stop the aggression but it doesn't really work (ramping up feedings, changing aquascape, breeder box for a few days, fuge trip, mirror for a little - nothing really works long-term), so I am trying to limit it. I was thinking of perhaps having my LEDs on two timers: one for blue, one for white.
In essence, I want to have my whites on for a limited amount of time, but my blues on for a while longer. I have 10 royal blue, 2 blue, and 8 neutral white (blues on one channel, whites on another). I currently have both whites and blues on for 9 hours - from 9:00-6:00. What would you guys suggest as a decent photoperiod? I was thinking that perhaps the blues could go on from 8:00-7:00 and the whites could be on from maybe 11:00-3:00 or 4:00. Maybe this would be too stressful on my coral and I should just return her? I have heard a natural "changing" light cycle as in nature could be helpful or harmful...but I would really like to keep her (she and he have such excellent personalities and I was hoping to breed them down the road) AND my sps.
Thoughts?

Thanks for all the help!
