Hi Guys

I have a mature 24 gallon nanocube that im going to use a tank for a Haddoni and a pair of Onyx Percs...what i need to know is what sorta lighting haddoni's prefer..obviously the stock lighting on the cube wont be up to the job but i plan to add two more 24 watt T5s bringing the total wattage in the tank upto 124 watts would this be enough to keep a haddoni happy?

Thanks

Elliott

Is that the only tank that you have? If so, a Haddoni (( regardless of color )) would outgrow a 24 in time. They can/will get rather large, even with little to no feedings. Plus, they do produce a good amount of waste, but it is your call. I know that I personally wouldn't do it -- finding a healthy Haddoni has been a challenge lately, and a healthy blue one is even harder --- so I would like to give a bigger (( more stable )) tank.

All of my Haddonis are kept under metal halides, and I have only used T5's for actinic, so can't speak about how they would do under just T5's. My blue Haddoni is in my 58, and is under 2*250 MH (( Radiums )). The one in my 75 is under 2*250 DE + 4*54 T5. For my smaller tank -- 33 cube -- I am running a 1*250 DE, though the Haddoni is already taking up half of the tank and will most likely be moved to my 75 one of these days.

Thanks for that :)

Would a Bubble Tip be considerably easier to keep? my LFS seems to believe Carpets are hardier than bubbles

Yes, IME, BTAs are more forgiving. Plus, they are easier to find -- healthy ones -- and since they clone themselves mostly likely will be able to find one that wasn't taken from the ocean. Still would prefer a bigger tank, but a lot better choice then a Haddoni.
