Blue carpet

I have been waiting for a few months for one of my LFS to get in a smaller blue carpet and finally found one today! Nice color and was very sticky, about 10-12" across.

I dodn't want to get a pair of clowns until i got the anemone so I can FINALLY get them. One store has a nice pair that was in the employees tank for 2+ years until he downsized last week. Got my qt up and running tonight so i may get them tomorrow.

Here's a pic just after i put him in the tank. He's already opening up and acting happy! Hopefully, he will stay right where i have him. I REALLY don't wanna wake up tomorrow and see him laying on top of my blastos or acans, lol!

Thanks for the compliments!

I actually almost didn't see him. He was in a tank where they usually don't have anything worth looking at and was kind of balled up. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and was like :eek1: ! lol.

He ate a little last night and is doing pretty good so hopefully he will be happy and stay put. I have alot of flow with the Tunzes but he isn't in a high flow area but is getting a good amount. With my corals , i dont really have room for him anywhere else without some MAJOR reorganizing!

I wanted to get my clowns today at my lfs but got back from my friends kids birthday at 3pm and my pokerstars monti had fallen. It broke and killed 2 REALLY nice small acan lord frags and landed directly on top of my other nice acan lord frag. It looks like about 12-15 of its 25 heads will probably die and about half the monti is bleached:( These were like 4 out of my 10 favorite corals all done in one quick swoop!!!!

I'm so bummed i just don't feel like looking at any fish or corals right now. Then the wife gets all mad because i'm in a REALLY bad mood and didn't want to go look at the clowns, so she yells that i'm overreacting and storms off:mad: GREAT SUNDAY!

Need to hide your emotions from your wife. They do not like you sharing your emotions with other things include girlfriend and hobbies:)
I secure my corals with epoxy to prevent them falling. Something you can be proactive to prevent disasters. Good luck.

Yeah, i'm REALLY mad at myself. The monti had somehow dislodged itself this morning but i didn't have time to epoxy it before the party and was gonna do it when i got home. I put it back in its place and It seemed like it was in there nice and tight again. It had never fallen before so i figured it would wait til i got home:mad:

Yeah when I came home from work lot of my rock had fallen. I have no idea why. However I lucked out. Everything landed properly like I would have organized it. :D

It is probably a good idea to wait a couple weeks to buy the clowns anyway. Giganteas are pretty fragile at first. It is a good idea to let it get acclimated and strong before it has clownfish beating on it. Even ocellaris clowns can be quite rough on a new anemone.

Thanks for the advice and compliments!

When i get them, The clowns will be in my qt for at least 1-2 weeks before adding them to the tank so that should give the carpet enough time to adjust.

I'm going to get a pic of the carpet today under my halides so you can see him better. Just didn't feel like doing anything with the tank yesterday after the coral mishap:(

I have a piece of pvc around him to keep him in place as you can see, How long should i leave it there to be reasonably sure that he wont move?

On a positive note, my one acan frag looks like it may only lose 5 heads or so not the 12-15 i feared and the wifey apologized profusely this morning for overreacting yesterday:D

p.s.- nice bernese phender! We have a swissie that the wife shows.
