Why do you say its not doing well? Is it just browning out? That can definitely happen when you switch tanks/lights/etc or is there something else going on?

Unfortuantely its way too large for my tank but I'd like to try to help your chalice get better anyhow. I have a miniature version growing in my tank and its beautiful.

I'm running vho's I never did a dip and the anemone is not touching it.. The guy i got it from had mh I'm guessing my lights are strong enough ? Also its not brown slime just slowly dieing

I would think you would need T5's or MH to keep a chalice but I could be wrong. BUt IMO if you are only running VHO's that is your problem.

You might want to dip the coral;) and I don't believe your problem is your lights , chalice is a coral that needs low light to thrive best but i can also be kept under MH lights, also you might want to check your nitrates and phosphates .

It is really hard to tell from the pictures. it looks like the outer rim is just brown but I can see small parts of die off that maybe look like where it was handled. This particular chalice I remember being especially delicate and easily broken. Handling, fish checking out the new big thing in the tank both could have easily damaged it.

I would expect it to change color from going from MH to a different lighting scheme, surprisingly many LPS are lower light corals. Don't let their super bright colors fool you!

Dipping LPS can be a bit stressful and they form so much slime you may or may not do more harm than good. If you have to dip I'd recommend pH balanced Ro/di with a few drops of iodine just in case there is anything bothering it but without a better picture I don't really see anything wrong. Was the chalice not colored this way in your friends tank? I'd really see how it looks after a month or so, it could just be an explosion of zooxanthellae adjusting to the light?

Well i have done everything i could to save this chalice with no luck if somebody want to come get it and try to save it I will be home most of the day sat. Free of course....
