Blue Chromis With Whitish Film

Hi All,

Picked up a Blue Chromis a couple days ago and noticed today a kind of whitish film on it...not spots though. I've attached a couple pics but couldn't get a great shot unfortunately. I have a Flame Angel a few months ago that showed similar signs and eventually died. Any ideas what this is?

Thanks,

holy molely thats a lot of scolly :)

hard to say from that picture, goggle marine velvet. i do know i bought 5 of those blue reef chromis and only have 1 left. they where in 3 separate qt tanks.

Thanks...I googled and the pics don't look like what's going on with this fish. Maybe it's still early stages.

Don't feel bad I have 265 gallon tank with 27 fish and still haven't qt a fish. Guess I am lucky [emoji256]

I have 38 fish total in my system all I lost was 4 chormis. Would t call it extremely lucky. No one gets lucky 38 out of 42 times. I only buy fish from one store. I wait till the fish has been there a month and make sure it's eating and fat. Now I know this isn't qt. Won't advise others not to. Qt is the safe bet. I guess I am a gambler. Ps damn extra point cost me 10k. More upset about that than ich any day

Uronema is one nasty ailment to my knowledge formalin is the only cure and you can't just do a dip you have to dose it into the tank because it normally eats bacteria in your system not sure how it will affect corals so u have to do some research on that I know it is not good for inverts

Thanks! That's what is looks like. Although, it seems to be getting better over the past couple days. I will read that article in more depth when I have some time at home.
