Blue Digitata

Does anyone have any experience with blue branching digitata? I have red but didnt know if the blue is more sensitive to light?

IME, it needs higher light to keep the blue. Otherwise it browns out, and who wants a brown digi?

and they are very brittle....my tangs often break mine to pieces when they get nice an big

mine grows like a weed under 400w MH

+ 1 on brittle evry time my digi gets big something happens and it gets busted.

How common is blue digitata? Like i said before i have pink but never have seen blue at my lfs

It's fairly common.

I just picked up a blue digi a couple months ago but it turned purple in my t-5 lit tank. The guy I got it from ran 400 watt radiums and was able to get the blue.

It is the fastest growing coral in my tank! If you would come get it I'd give you a big chunk! It is nice though, mine is purplish blue under 400 radiums.

An old reefer told me once, to always keep a piece of digi in my tank. She said they are a good indicator of water quality.

I have two blue digis one from LFS one from frag swap

This is a frag from the one from the swop, not sure how many but just a few (3-4) mouths old, it seems to grow much faster.

This was from LFS it didn't grow much for awhile but has taken off of late. It is higher in the tank & seems to be more blue.

Could have mad them look much bluer, but don't like it when people over saturate colors in photoshop so I try not to.
