Blue Dot Jawfish

I'm am building my future list of fish and am wondering about the Blue Dot.

I hear they maybe difficult.

Anyone have one. Anyone have long term success.


Any tips.

I have a blue spot jawfish.
I have only had him a month, he eats like a pig!! Great character he eats flake ,mysis and krill anything i,v feed the tank. I have been breaking up rubble and leaving it around his burrow, Once its gone i add a little more.
I must admit i was a bit nervous spending that much on a fish that can be difficult or suddenly die.But i,m so glad i did i think he is great!

Nice fish zoeaddict. Is yours really dark on the tail end? I've noticed that all the blue spots on DD are pretty dark on their back half, but I'm guessing that's pretty much the case with all of them. He looks bright and yellow on the front though!

He is very dark on his lower half but the spots are nice and bright.

Cool, congrats on a getting a healty one that's eating. BSJ are one of the must haves imo.

He was skinny and had a mark on his side, I took a gamble with him tbh. The day i put him in the tank he ate and started building. I was chuffed, the mark has gone and he is putting weight on nicely.

I have had mine for close to a year now. One of my favorites. He likes to stay close to his borrow and the food needs to get close to him for him to eat. He will eat both mysis and pellets. I do keep the tank around 78 and it is completly covered with a clear plastic screen.
