Well I finally took the plunge and bought a blue face angel.A teenager just getting adult colors.
Got him on Dec. 23 and QT, started prazi on 24 .He ate some masago (fish eggs) on the 23 & 24 but would not eat at all after that,just picked a little at the rocks.Tried lots of diffent food including black worms....not eating.
Yesterday(Dec. 28) I tied some grape caulerpa and chaeto to a rock and discovered he likes the caulerpa a lot.Gave him some more this morn. and he really went at it.

i remember mine (before i broke my system down) would go nuts over gel based sponge frozen cubes...

Nice pickup. I got one almost identical to yours too. Mines not touching frozen but goes crazy for NLS 3mm pellets and nori. Got him about a month now. GL.

I put some nori in with the chaeto and caulerpa and it looks like he is picking at that too.Right now the grape caulerpa seems to be his taste though.

Mine prefers NLs pellets, veggie flakes, & nori over frozen by far.
It rarely ever eats frozen.

I grew one up from a 1-2 inch juvi to an 5-6 inch "teenager" before I sold it. It would eat anything I put in the tank -- Rod's food (( red, green and blue labels )), LifeLine's herbivore mix, Prime Reef, Spectrum pellets, and mysis. Oh, and it loved zoas and S. Haddonis for snacks.

I have one and its the jewel of the tank. He can't resist clams on 1/2 shell. That will almost always prompt a feeding response. I used that to get my regal going when he wouldn't eat.

good call Austin...that's exactly what I would feed him and he would devour that stuff. Just a suggestion of foods to try. good luck with that beauty.

I love bluefaces...I'm looking forward to getting my second in the near future!! My first one loved nori. Everytime I put a piece in it would devour it. I got mine on mysis by adding Kent's garlic extreme. I would defrost the mysis cubs and put a couple drops of That in and he went right after it.

my adult 4" BF will eat anything frozen(goes crazy over mysis), but wont touch NLS pellets. it would even eat ocean nutrition reef flakes. it eats a little bit of nori too.

only had the BF for 12 days.

anyone with tricks on getting them to eat NLS pellets? my emperor juvie will eat everything along with NLS pellets.

Our adult BF (7") eats 3mm NLS pellets great. It took a while for it to learn to eat pellets. It learned to eat Nori before pellets.

I think it's just a waiting game for it to 'click', that it can eat pellets.
