Blue frogspawn

I just saw a frogspawn or torch frag at a lfs that appeared to be light blue with bright greenish / yellow tips. It was under a 250w radium and appeared to be healthy though it was only two heads. I've never seen a blue one before and I'm wondering if it's some other color that's just bleaching. Anyone here ever seen anything like that?

I had a "blue" frogspawn before. It wasn't blue exactly; more of a grayish blue. It was a beautiful color, but it didn't "pop".. Hard to explain.

I've seen blue with bright green tips before, but I think it was a torch.

The fish stores in the NY area have been getting frogspawn from the solomon islands resently. The owner of my LFS was told by his wholesaler that the regular FS that we are used to are hard to get. There have been solomon fs and gonipora that have a blue/gray translucent tentacles. Definetly different and cool to add to your tank

Thanks for all the responses. Agreed - it was a bit of grayish blue, but very beautiful. It was on a frag rack of overpriced frags - like $30 each. The shop always takes trades from me so I think I'll do an even swap for a piece Idaho Grape. That way I won't feel so bad if it's some common frogspawn in decline. If it's really a blue one and thrives as such, I'll be sure to post some pics.

$30 is a great price for this piece. They normally sell for much more. I really don't think it's a coral in decline. What would be the normal color?

$30 is a cheap piece of coral around here. And I have at least 5 good shops within 20ish minutes. A lot more within 1-1.5 hrs

I tried to get a photo with my N4, but even the live view of it on the screen didn't really match what I was seeing with my eyes. Anyway - I made an even trade for a piece of Idaho Grape so I got it in my tank. It looks more lavender in my tank - much closer to what my N4 was showing me. And I'm pretty sure it's a torch and not a FS. I'm waiting for it to extend itself more over the next few days. It's been somewhat closed since I got it - surprising since it's under identical lighting (250w radium) and about the same depth and distance from the bulb.

As posted above, I had a blue-ish grey frogspawn. It was nice bit not a bright-blue color that popped out. It was difficult to photograph and IMO was less hardy than normal euphyllia.

There's one in an LFS by me but it's small, expensive, and not that blue.

I've seen one but it was more like a grayish blue color and not all that impressive in person. Looked kinda weird.
