Blue Gig Treatment

small + note, today is the first day i came home to the gig is not deflated. so 5g water change, another pill. i did find a bit of black bits when i do the water change.

another positive note, it didnt deflated like it did the first couple days of the treaments this morning.

the treatments seem finally start to work. it opens up bigger than ever. it cover about 90% of the cup that hold it. will do 5g water change tonight and another pill.
i think Minh recommanded do 7-10 days treatments. i will stop treatment on the 8th is the nem keep this up.

if the nem response positively to treatment, why not do a full cycle of 10 days? this will completly rid off the bacteria/infection and then some......

I don't know for sure, but I would guess that after 3-4 days of doing well, we can stop the medication. This is the base of my recommendation of at lest 7 days treatment.

The "and then some" is the problem.

Not all bacteria is bad bacteria. I stopped on 6.5 days with my treatment because my gig stopped expelling black balls. Do I know for sure that no more black balls is a sign of everything being good to go? No I certainly don't; but it's all a crap shoot right now. I take Minh's suggestions highly but I'm also documenting what I am and am not doing for future reference in case we ever do figure out how long treatment should go for. I'm going to stick to my guns and just do display tank water for now, but if it does go south there will be documentation of stopping on 6.5 days is not good enough and no more black balls doesn't mean you're in the clear.

The treatment is good but it's not 100% YET. I'm sure one day we'll figure out a step by step mg by mg procedure but I think we are still in the play by ear phase of this treatment.

Me too...... i am actually very excited about this new breakthrough, it looks like it is very promising. imagine we tip the scale from high fail rate to high success rate with these animals.......

If this is for real, dealers should follow this procedure and treat all their incoming anemones in their holding tanks..... then us human would be collecting less and less of these animals from the sea because we dont kill as many as we used to.

2 days in the display tank now,the new updated shot. the pair of onyx hosting it. dont seem bother it. i wont feed it for another couple of weeks. the black ice want to get in, but the male onyx keeping them out. lol.

yeah, time went fast. about the same time my blue is 1 year old as well.
