Blue/green chromis turned black!

I put 4 blue/green chromis into my quarantine tank which already had 1 blue/green chromis and 1 coral banded shrimp. The latter have been in the QT for 1 week.

I observed them for an hour and then turned the lights off to take a shower...when i got back 10 min later, 1 chromis turned almost completely black/grey and 1 was half grey. I panicked and threw the shrimp into the fuge of my DT. 5 min later, the 2 "grey/black" chromis returned to their normal coloration except that they have a faint black outline on their tails.

So mysterious! Can anyone tell me why?? was it really the shrimp?

Of course not. Tossing the shrimp into your Dt's fuge isn't a great idea; forms of parasites can hitch a ride.
