blue hipo tang

Yes, they can. Not sure that they would if all of their needs are being met.

Do you have more info?

They been live thogeter for about 8 month. i got a 55 gal whit 1 couple clown ocselaris. All parameter ar ok. Dunno what information you need just ask me

What size is that hippo tang? I'm seeing that your signature says your tank is 50g. I wonder if your tang is showing aggressive behavior because of insufficient space.

Some time food is factor. How often do you feed? I have hippo tang on my 135G. If I do not feed enough he will start bully other fish.

What are you feeding it? I'm wondering if it's lacking something in its diet. Still, I wonder if it's a space limitation. A 3-4" hippo can swim a LOT, so it could be feeling cramped in there. Though, I've seen tangs that size kept in tanks about that size without any problems. Maybe you just got the deviation from the rule of them being overall peaceful fish?

It is unlikely that it killed the angel all at once. Did you see marks from a beating? Did you see it beat the angel? If not, then it is not likely that it killed it... most of the time it takes days for this to happen, especially since they got along for so long.

I know the size is too big for my 55 gal but im planing to change for a bigger setup. I feed with new life spetrum pelet, ocean nutrion formula 1 and 2 flake, cyclop eeze flake, mysis and brinme shrimp.

+1 Since blue tang not qualify as predator fish. You should see the blue tang start chasing/beating the angle first.

Yes i see some mark of beating on is rear tail. this morning he was alright and when i went feed the second time i did not see my angel. then i ooking everywhere and i found hit between 2 rock and was breathing pretty fast.

Hmmm, well I'm starting to think that jda is right. Tangs tend to draw things out, but usually with other tangs.

My original idea was that it wasn't receiving enough algae in its diet as I've seen a hippo rip a mappa puffer in half when it didn't get enough algae in its diet.

If the angel survive tonight. Try this.

- Download picture of coral beauty from internet.
- Print out the 6-7 pictures of the coral beauty angel in COLOR
- Cut it and post it on outside the tank.

This is may sound crazy but it work for me. Every time I have fish that picking on the other, I use this method.

How big is the hippo?

It is possible that the hippo did it, but kinda wierd that it happened so fast. Can you get a picture of the damage on the fish?
